Great Bend Muni sits in Great Bend, Kansas. The field elevation is 1,886.7 ft MSL. It has two runways. The longest is 17/35 at 7,852 ft. There is no control tower, so expect CTAF and UNICOM use on 122.8. The airport has one ILS approach to runway 35. Pattern altitude is not published. Use the standard 1,000 ft AGL pattern for light piston traffic unless the current Chart Supplement says otherwise.
Coulson Aviation is on the field. It carries 100LL and Jet A Prist. The published remarks say 100LL and Jet A self-serve fuel are available at the north end of the terminal apron. 100LL also has 24-hour credit card service. After 1800 local time, services are available by request. For a first-time arrival, pay attention to the runway lighting notes. Runway 35 has a malfunctioning approach lighting system with runway alignment indicator lights. Runway end identifier lights are on runway 17. PAPI is on runways 11, 17 and 29. VASI is on runway 35. Calm wind runway is 17. If you need clearance delivery and cannot reach Flight Service, the Chart Supplement says to contact Kansas City Center. This is a good field to brief ahead of time because the airport has a long concrete runway. It also has a shorter asphalt runway. There is no tower to sort things out for you.
